TLDR: About to hit R2 or R4? Wait for patch unless you play rather actively and enjoy Reinforcing.

The next patch contains the big rebalance AND Spacemas. No new sector based content.

When?

Sometime around the end of next week/weekend.

What Will the Rebalance Do?

If you are anywhere between R1 and Sector 130 quite a bit changes. 130+ will be a little different but less so.

R1-R5

This section is being squashed to 3 reinforces instead of 5. Instead of 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 it is now 80, 90, 100. The reinforces will take slightly longer than their direct counterpart but there are only 3. The upgrades have been condensed into just 3 sets instead of 5, but they have the same total power. You can roughly think of it like this:

• R1 = R1 + part of R2
• R2 = Rest of R2 + R3 + part of R4
• R3 = Rest of R4 + R5

Here is what to expect depending on which Reinforce you are on:

• R1: Still on R1, slight stat gain
• R2: Set to R1, slight stat loss
• R3: Set to R2, slight stat gain
• R4: Set to R2, slight stat loss
• R5+: Set to R3

As you can see, current R2 and R4 are going to be redundant, so if you are ABOUT to start those, you will be better off waiting for the patch unless you play very actively/optimally. If you do end up being converted over from R2 or R4 you'll get a couple time skips to ease the pain a little in addition to Spacemas.

R5/Sector 100+

The changes here are far more varied so you could end up with notably different stats in some cases. Fleet Artifact upgrades no longer require reinforce, their total effect has been reduced and that power has been put in a whole new set of Reinforce upgrades spread from sector 101 to 129. What happens:

• You will get Reinforce upgrades based on the highest sector you Reinforced at.
• Any maxed galaxies will stay maxed.
• Artifact upgrades in the galaxy you are progressing will shuffle around a bit and you may have a little more or less artifacts depending on the specifics.
• You may end up with slightly wonky artifact upgrades states.

Unlike R1-R5, there is no reason to pause reinforces until patch or anything like that.
